よりつく【寄り付く】

1 〔近づく〕 get near sb; go [come] near; approach.

●寄りつかない keep away from 《sb, a place》; shun sb; give sb a wide berth; keep one's distance 《from…》; 〔敬遠して〕 keep sb at a respectful distance

・家にあまり寄りつかない子供たち children who tend to stay out of the house.

●長女は結婚しろと言われるのが嫌で実家に寄りつかない. The oldest girl dislikes being told to get married and keeps her distance from her parents' house.

・彼女はあまりに気位が高いので全然男が寄りつかない. Her manner is so lofty that no men approach her.

・彼はだんだん叔父に寄りつかなくなった. He sought out his uncle's company less and less.
